Cookies

Boringdots does not set its own analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies, and does not profile visitors. The cookies that do exist are essential for the parts of the site that need authentication or signup to work.
Essential cookies
- Clerk sets a session cookie (
__session) and a small number of related auth cookies after you sign in. These are required to keep you signed in across page loads and to call protected routes. They are cleared when you sign out. See Clerk's privacy policy. - Cloudflare Turnstile (Clerk's bot-prevention) may set a short-lived cookie during sign-up if a CAPTCHA challenge is required. Used only to verify you are not a bot. See Cloudflare's cookie policy.
- Vercel (hosting) may set essential operational cookies required to serve the site securely. See Vercel's privacy policy.
- Kit (ConvertKit) may set cookies if you interact with the newsletter signup form, to make subscription work. See Kit's policy.
- Stripe sets cookies on its checkout pages (not on Boringdots) to process payment and prevent fraud. See Stripe's cookie settings.
No cookies are used for advertising, cross-site tracking, or building a profile of you.
Why there is no consent banner
Boringdots does not show a cookie consent banner because every cookie set on this site is strictly necessary for the feature you are actively using (signing in, completing checkout, subscribing to the newsletter). No analytics cookies, advertising cookies, or cross-site tracking cookies are set. Under Malaysia's PDPA and the spirit of comparable regulations (EU ePrivacy, UK PECR), strictly-necessary cookies do not require prior consent. If Boringdots ever adds non-essential cookies (analytics, A/B testing, marketing pixels), a consent banner will be added at the same time.
Managing cookies
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. Blocking essential cookies will sign you out and prevent you from creating an account or using Boringdots Operator. Reading the free site material will continue to work normally.
