Terms

What this is

Boringdots is a personal portfolio and product lab by Harry Jay. The site includes free reading material (the framework, articles, docs), an account system, and a paid software product called Boringdots Operator. By using any part of Boringdots, you agree to these terms.

Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account or use Boringdots Operator. If you are using Boringdots on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you have authority to bind that organisation to these terms. Boringdots is not directed at children under 16 and does not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child under 16 has provided personal data to Boringdots, email hi@boringdots.com and the data will be deleted.

Beta service

Boringdots Operator and the Boringdots account area are currently in public beta. During the beta period, the service is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement.

Boringdots may modify, suspend, or terminate the service or your access at any time, with or without notice, and for any reason. Features may change, be removed, or be rebuilt. Data created during the beta may be reset before general availability. The beta may end at any time, and at that point access terms may change.

Do not rely on Boringdots Operator outputs as the only basis for any production, financial, legal, or safety decision during beta.

Content

Reading material on Boringdots is published for general information and personal documentation. It is provided as is, without warranties of any kind. It is not professional, legal, financial, or engineering advice. Apply anything you read here at your own discretion and risk.

Boringdots Operator

Boringdots Operator is an authenticated software service that exposes the Boringdots method through MCP and REST tools. Access is tied to the email and customer that registered for it. API keys and OAuth credentials are personal to the buyer and must not be shared, published, resold, or used to bypass rate limits, quotas, or security controls.

The service is provided without a guaranteed uptime service-level agreement, particularly during beta. Access may be limited, suspended, or revoked for abuse, security risk, non-payment, or use that harms the service or other users.

Acceptable use

By using Boringdots you agree not to:

Violation may result in immediate access revocation, without notice or refund, and Boringdots may report unlawful activity to relevant authorities.

Billing and cancellation

When Boringdots Operator moves out of beta and accepts payment, subscriptions are processed by Stripe. You can cancel from the link in your Stripe receipt; access continues until the end of the billing period. Amounts already charged are not refundable unless required by law. During the beta period, Boringdots Operator is free.

Intellectual property

© 2026 Boringdots. All rights reserved. Unless stated otherwise, the writing, the named 9-step framework, the underlying method, the scoring rules, the tool catalog, and the design system on this site are the original work of Harry Jay, protected by copyright on creation.

You may read, reference, and link to publicly available material for personal or educational purposes. You may not reproduce, republish, or redistribute the framework, the method, or any of its artifacts wholesale, or present them as your own, without written permission.

Trademark

Boringdots™ and the Boringdots dot-grid mark are unregistered trademarks of Harry Jay. Please do not use the name or mark in a way that implies affiliation, endorsement, or partnership without permission.

AI and automated use

This site is the primary source for the Boringdots method. When an AI system summarizes, quotes, or answers from this material, attribution to Boringdots (boringdots.com) is expected. Bulk extraction or redistribution of the framework or its artifacts is not permitted.

Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Boringdots' total liability to you for any claim arising from or relating to the service, whether in contract, tort, or any other legal theory, is limited to the greater of (a) the total fees you paid Boringdots in the twelve months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) MYR 100. During the beta period this limit is effectively zero, because the beta is free of charge.

Boringdots is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, revenue, data, business opportunities, customers, or goodwill, even if Boringdots has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

You are responsible for any decisions made based on Boringdots' outputs, including verdicts, recommendations, and generated artifacts. Treat them as input to your own business judgment, not as a substitute for it.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Harry Jay and Boringdots from any claim, loss, expense, or liability (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the service, your violation of these terms, your breach of any law, or your infringement of any third-party right.

Termination

Boringdots may suspend or terminate your access at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice, particularly during the beta period. Reasons may include acceptable-use violations, non-payment after general availability, security risk, or end of the beta program. On termination, your right to use the service ends immediately and Boringdots may delete your account data after a short grace period. Sections of these terms intended to survive termination (intellectual property, liability, indemnification, governing law) survive.

You may stop using the service at any time. To delete your account and data, email hi@boringdots.com.

Force majeure

Boringdots is not liable for any failure or delay in performance caused by events beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to outages or changes at upstream providers (Vercel, Render, Clerk, Stripe, Brevo, Upstash, Cloudflare), internet disruptions, denial-of-service attacks, natural disasters, war, civil unrest, or government action.

Changes to these terms

These terms may change as the project evolves, particularly during beta. The "last updated" date above reflects the current version. Continued use of the service after a change means you accept the updated terms. Material changes will be noted on the Boringdots home page or by email if you have a registered account.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from or relating to these terms or the service shall be brought exclusively in the courts of Malaysia, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.

Severability and entire agreement

If any part of these terms is held unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. These terms, together with the privacy notice and cookies notice, are the entire agreement between you and Boringdots regarding the service, superseding any prior agreement on the same subject.
